Jeff Garcia
Program Specialist

As a Program Specialist, Jeff assists with the daily operations of Paddle Share to ensure smooth operations and customer service for all paddlers. Through leading community paddles and assisting with MPC's public programs on land and on the river, he helps ensure that recreation on the river is accessible and welcoming to the Twin Cities community.
Jeff holds a B.A. from Macalester College and an M.A. in Education from the University of St. Thomas. Prior to working with MPC, he worked as a special education teacher in Saint Paul Public Schools, and as a labor organizer with MFT Local 59. He grew up paddling the Delaware Water Gap and hiking the NY portion of the Appalachian Trail, and is passionate about accessibility in outdoor spaces.
Interests
In addition to river recreation, Jeff enjoys maintaining a "pocket prairie" and vegetable garden, weight training, roleplaying games, labor history, and volunteering for local arts and sports organizations.
