Tamara organizes, coordinates, and implements two programs as a Program Coordinator with Mississippi Park Connection: BIPOC in the Outdoors and the Mississippi River Fellowship. BIPOC in the Outdoors is a Twin Cities movement that centers the experiences of Black, Indigenous, and people of color, and relationality to nature, land, and one another. She coordinates and leads events ranging from habitat restoration and recreation on and along the Mississippi River, to educational workshops and simply being in community with others while in nature. She also co-coordinates the Mississippi River Fellowship with MISS NPS staff. The Fellowship a 10-week paid summer fellowship for young adults who identify as BIPOC to explore the different branches of the National Park Service and the environmental field.

Interests:

Tamara enjoys spending her time reading, journaling, cooking, and being with her poodle, Annie. She loves gardening, kayaking, camping, and hiking in summertime, and baking, knitting, and being cozy in the colder months.
