Deacon lives in Bdeóta Othúŋwe and is currently attending graduate school at the University of Minnesota in the Heritage studies and Public History program. His areas of focus include decolonizing narratives through truth-telling and constructing frameworks of Indigeneity and reciprocity within decolonized interpretive treatments and academia. Another developing aspect of Deacon's work is thinking about the consultation and application of traditional ecological knowledge's to the land in relation to its historical memory.
