As it flows through the heart Twin Cities, the river is part of a national park like no other: the Mississippi National River and Recreation Area, where nature, history, and community meet. It’s a place to paddle, to hike, to learn, to heal—and to belong. 

But this national park doesn’t thrive on its own. It depends on people like you. 

On Give to the Max Day, your gift to Mississippi Park Connection helps protect this vital river corridor and ensure that everyone—no matter their background—can experience the wonder of the Mississippi. From restoring floodplain forests to connecting youth with nature, your support fuels the work of the National Park Service that keeps this park vibrant, resilient, and welcoming. 

Your donation connects people to our national park on the the Mississippi River

• $50 sends one student on Big River Journey, an NPS-led field trip that sparks a lifelong connection to nature

• $100 plants a climate-resilient tree and protects it as it takes root. 

• $250 honors a community leader who guides affinity programs and helps others feel at home along the river. 

• $500 provides shuttle transportation so families from Title I schools can explore the park together and enjoy events like Float Fest

• $1000 replaces a tandem kayak for our Paddle Share program, ensuring everyone has a safe and affordable way to experience the national park from the river
