Join National Park Volunteer Brent Skaja (Army Veteran) and National Park Ranger Kyle Just (Air Force Veteran) for a veteran-only paddle down the Mississippi River!
We will begin at River Park in Brooklyn Park and end at Boom Island Regional Park. All kayaks and equipment will be provided by Mississippi Park Connection. This route will feature stops to include the heron rookery and Sheridan Memorial Park in Minneapolis.
This event is limited to 15 participants.
Veteran will be defined as someone who has completed at least 181 days of active duty, not for training only.
You must be able to swim.
A sack lunch, kayaks, and paddling equipment included in price.
Consider bringing: water, snacks, sun hat, sunglasses, weather appropriate clothing, shoes or sandals that can get wet, binoculars. Anything you bring may get wet and we are not responsible for lost or damaged items.
Transportation from the end point (Boom Island Regional Park) back to the starting point (River Park) is not provided due to COVID-19 restrictions. Please arrange your own transportation (bike, ride share apps, bus, drive two cars with a veteran friend, etc.)
