Global Bird Day

  • Coldwater Spring 5601 Minnehaha Park Drive South Minneapolis, MN, 55417 United States (map)

Global Bird Day is a mass event to get a snapshot of the world bird population by using the free app eBird. Please come out to Coldwater Spring (Mni Owe Sni) and note all the birds you can see and identify there. It’s a great chance to view native sparrows, thrushes, and even a few bluebirds. Rangers and volunteers will be in the accessible parking lot from sunrise to sundown to help point out birds or answer your questions on how to participate. Every bird reported helps us understand bird populations and how birds use Coldwater Spring.

No registration required. You may attend at your own leisure. This event is free and open to the public.

In this episode of Coffee With A Ranger from last year, Ranger Sharon discusses how to use the eBird app.

Want to volunteer for this event?

Volunteers will help point out birds, answer questions about the eBird app and Merlin bird ID app, and help walk small groups of people around Coldwater Spring to see birds.
