Mississippi Park Connection works with partner community groups and individuals across the Twin Cities to create meaningful and exciting experiences that strengthen the connection between people and the Mississippi National River and Recreation Area, a national park.
To each of us, the river has its own meaning, its own spirit, and its own story. Mississippi Park Connection serves to honor individual connections and break down systemic barriers to access on the river. By providing resources, equipment, education, and staff support, we lift up others in developing their personal relationships with the river. We envision a future where each member of our community is fully empowered to cultivate their own relationship with the river and become its steward. In this way, the river gains dedicated advocates, stewards, visitors, and public servants who bring their unique voice to this national treasure.
