Email Your Representatives
The Great River Passage Conservancy and the City of Saint Paul are advocating for the inclusion of $20 million in state funding for the design and construction for the Mississippi River Learning Center. The center will not only provide a home for the National Park Service, Mississippi Park Connection, and Wilderness Inquiry, but also serve as a national gateway to the Mississippi River with year-round river learning and outdoor recreation experiences on and along Saint Paul’s riverfront. Ask your legislators to support this project by emailing them today.
The Mississippi River Learning Center is an opportunity for people from our state and community to learn about Minnesota’s unique history and cultures. It is a place to connect with the river’s water through recreational activities like boating, biking, and bird watching. It will be an asset for generations of Minnesota’s school children, families, and visitors to learn about the incredible Mississippi River - with your support.
We need your help to secure state funding for the Mississippi River Learning Center. Please copy the email below, fill in your name and city, and send it to the three representatives listed: Rep. Lee, Rep. Murphy, and Rep. Urdahl.

Dear Rep. Lee, Rep. Murphy and Rep. Urdahl,
I write in support of the Mississippi River Learning Center and ask that you include $20 million in the House Bonding bill to fund its design and construction. The Mississippi River Learning Center will serve as Minnesota’s gateway to the Mississippi River, welcoming families, students and visitors to this national center and park headquarters with year-round education and recreational programming.
Right now, there are no major facilities for visitors to easily access the river – a missed opportunity for Minnesota. Funding the Mississippi River Learning Center will create that connection, giving generations of Minnesotans the opportunity to connect with one of America’s greatest natural wonders.
This is an opportunity for people from our state and community to learn about Minnesota’s unique history and cultures. It is a place to connect with the river’s water through recreational activities like boating, biking, and bird watching, while bringing economic benefits to the region and the entire state. It will be an asset for generations of Minnesota’s school children, families, and visitors to learn about the incredible Mississippi River - with your support.
I hope you will include the Mississippi River Learning Center in bonding this year and support the creation of this statewide asset and connection to the Mississippi River. Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
