Did you know that our city's wastewater goes back into the Mississippi River?
Learn how it is first safely treated before returning to the river at this unique tour of the award winning Metropolitan Wastewater Treatment Plant, located on the Mississippi River in St. Paul.
The Metro Plant is the largest wastewater treatment facility in Minnesota. It treats an average of 172 million gallons of wastewater per day, serving 66 communities of a combined 1.8 million people.
Attendees must be 12+ years old. Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
Attendees who are 18 or older MUST email their First, Middle, and Last name along with their date of birth to csacarelos@parkconnection.org upon registering. This information is needed for a security review, per the plant’s requirements.
Attendees who are 18 or older MUST bring proof of their identity in the form of a government-issued photo identification card. Examples of acceptable identification include a state-issued driver’s license, a state-issued identification card, a VISA (aka “green card”) or a passport.
Sturdy, closed-toe shoes or boots are required. About ⅓ of the tour will take place outside; please dress accordingly.
Space is limited and registration is required. If you can no longer attend, kindly cancel your registration to open your spot to others.
