Listen To Coldwater

Coldwater Spring Meeting Place.JPG

This guided listening session with National Park Service super-volunteer Lisa Keitel gives you the opportunity to slow down and tune into your senses, becoming fully immersed in nature around you at Coldwater Spring. As you observe the different sounds in the park, the group will work together to identify what they are hearing. There will be time to ask questions and discuss your observations.

  • Meet on the steps in the gravel parking lot behind the Coldwater Spring entrance sign.

  • Due to the popularity of the park on Saturdays, we recommend arriving early to find parking and walk to the site on time:

    • The gravel parking lot is reserved for folks with disabled parking permits

    • Paid parking is available along Minnehaha Park Drive S.

    • Free parking is available along E 53rd St, west of Hwy 55 (see highlighted area on map below)

  • Program starts with a short walk to a shaded seating area.

  • Please wear a mask.

  • We will sit on rock seats (pictured) to ensure social distancing. You may bring your own chair if you prefer.

  • Please bring water, bug spray, and a sun hat or umbrella for shade.

  • Please note there is not a bathroom at this location.

  • We will cancel in the event of rain.

  • Registration is required to keep track of group size, but it is free.
