Throwback Thursday
The year 2020 marks the 100th anniversary of the passage of the 19th Amendment, stating that the right to vote would not be denied on account of sex. To commemorate this anniversary, we are debuting an online series that tells the stories of women who’ve had a great impact on the Mississippi River and the river park.
The first installment of “Women of the Mississippi” will be published on our blog on Thursday morning. Check back on April 23 to see who it is!
Do you know of someone, a historical figure or someone still alive today, who should be included in this series? If you would like to contribute your own essay or nominate a notable person to be featured, contact Anna at awaugh@parkconnection.org.
