Celebrate Fossil Day with the National Park Service on this guided fossil hike and site exploration.
National Fossil Day is mid-week and -month October on the 15th, and we are celebrating with two ranger-led hikes! Take a walk through time with a National Park Service ranger to hunt for fossils, learn how they came to be here, and discover how the geology of a massive waterfall shaped the Twin Cities. Participants will discover one of the many hidden waterfalls around the Mississippi River and catch some spectacular fall colors, all while exploring a lesser-known area of your local national park, what a way to spend the day!
Participants must be able to walk on uneven ground, over fallen trees, and on a steep trail with no barrier fencing. We're going on an adventure!
