B.A.R.K. Ranger

  • Coldwater Spring 5601 Minnehaha Park Drive South Minneapolis, MN, 55417 United States (map)

Are you and your pet ready to become a B.A.R.K. Ranger?

If you don’t have a pet or are looking to adopt—you’re in luck! We’re partnering with Minneapolis Animal Care & Control to bring three (3) adoptable dogs for hopeful pet owners to participate. At this event, you’ll learn how you and your canine companion can support the park’s ecosystem at Mni Owe Sni. Earn your B.A.R.K. Ranger badge by completing on-site activities and by learning the principles of B.A.R.K.:

  • Bag your pet’s waste

  • Always leash your pet

  • Respect wildlife

  • Know where you can go

Two free one-hour, ranger-led walks are scheduled at 12:30 p.m. and 2 p.m. where participants will learn how to enjoy your national parks while keeping it safe through stewardship. Space is limited to five furry friends and their companions on these walks. We ask attendees limit their group size to a maximum of four due to limited space on the trail.

If you’re walking with one of our adoptable friends, please arrive at least 15-minutes before your scheduled walk to find parking and be paired with a companion.

If slots for the walk fill up, you can still drop-in to complete the scavenger hunt and upload a selfie to social media to earn your badge (limited supply).

Mni Owe Sni is accessible via the Metro Transit Blue Line, metered street parking, and three accessible parking spaces*. Participants must be prepared for travel across gravel and vegetated trails—paved trails are not available at Mni Owe Sni.

*Usually, four accessible parking spaces are available at Mni Owe Sni; one of those spaces will have an accessible portable toilet during the event.
