The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources and the Mississippi National River and Recreation Area (National Park Service), and other partners, are co-sponsoring a four day fishing event at various locations along the Mississippi River in the greater Minneapolis/Saint Paul area.
Come down to the river to learn about fish and fishing from the MN DNR, NPS staff, and volunteers. All equipment will be provided, including tackle, rod/reel combinations, and bait. At Coon Rapids Dam we typically catch a variety of species, including smallmouth bass, northern pike, walleye, bluegills, and catfish.
Fishing license requirements are waived for these events. No license necessary!
This particular program is located at the Coon Rapids Dam Regional Park. Parking is available on either side of the river, but free on the west side. Meet at the fishing platforms on the west side of the dam.
