Adaptive Paddle @ Pickerel Lake (Lilydale Regional Park)

Instructors from the National Park Service and Paddle Bridge Guide Collective will lead participants on a guided paddle of Pickerel Lake. Participants can expect to alternate between paddling and activities and games on shore. Tandem and solo kayaks with a variety of adaptive equipment will be available, including supported hand adaptations or specialized outriggers for balance. A kayak, paddle, and life jacket will be provided. Participants should bring water, a hat, weather appropriate clothes, shoes that can get wet, and sunscreen. Pickerel Lake is a small lake with abundant wildlife.

Participants will meet at the parking lot (44.91995454533804, -93.12123988962405) at the juncture of West Water Street and Lilydale Road, just east of the pavilion. A handicap port-a-potty is on-site. Please do not leave valuables in your car.

Adaptive Recreation Notes and Guidelines:

  • Saint Paul Parks and Recreation will adhere to the guidance of the CDC and MN Department of Health. The programs offered may require modifications based on future public health recommendations.

  • Some roster numbers will be limited, so early registration is highly recommended.

  • You will be notified by phone and /or email if a roster has been filled and if an activity needs to be cancelled (a site conflict, weather etc.). Otherwise, assume activity will be taking place.

  • When leaving voice mail messages, include full name(s) AND a phone number.

  • Please schedule your own transportation no more than 15 minutes before & after the time of activities.

  • If you are not feeling well, please do not attend.

  • Dress appropriately for activities. You may bring your own water bottles.
