Give To The Max Day

Give To The Max Day

Embrace the abundance of this season, and support Mississippi Park Connection's goal of raising $40,000 to serve the Mississippi River to the Max! Your generosity helps increase the capacity for youth education, environmental stewardship, and community connections on the river. Whether you’re coming to the Mississippi River for the first time or walk in the park daily, you can benefit from the visitor services and recreation, education, and park programs our donors support in the park.

SHARE YOUR LOVE FOR THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER!

A River For All

The Mississippi River offers a variety of recreation opportunities, serves as an outdoor classroom for students, and is unlocking vital insights for climate sustainability in the floodplain forest.

We work in community and in partnership to promote generosity across the region. With support from people like you, we help visitors connect with the Mississippi River through adventures, volunteering, the arts, and co-created affinity programming. The impact of supporters in the past year includes some big wins that individual contributions have helped accomplish this year:

  • Mississippi Park Connection and the National Park Service celebrated 25 years of Big River Journey - the premier field trip that connects students with the river through science and real-world observations. More than 8,000 elementary school students experienced their national park in the 2022-2023 school year.

  • Mississippi Park Connection and National Park Service volunteers have collected three years of data in partnership with the University of Minnesota to reveal which trees will thrive in future climate conditions along the Mississippi River and planted 18,000+ trees since the launch of the Plant for the Future campaign.

  • In 2023, more than 2,000 people engaged with the river through BIPOC in the Outdoors.

  • Events at Crosby Farm Regional Park brought together 700+ attendees at Park After Dark, history cruises, and the Wander and Wonder Walks.

  • The River Learning Center received $8 million in state bonding for the next development phase and is the City of Saint Paul’s number one 2024 bonding priority thanks to advocacy from Mississippi Park Connection members.

We invite you to reflect on your own connection with the river consider how you might share in Mississippi Park Connection’s core values Community-Focused, Inspiration, Resilience, Partnership, and Joy on the river.
