Fossils: Discovering Ancient Coldwater
October’s Second Saturday is all about discovering the ancient side of Coldwater through fossil hunting and identification. Coldwater Spring is what is known as a fossiliferous park, or rich with fossils, due to Minnesota and the Midwest being covered by an ocean some 400 million years ago. Join NPS rangers to see what ancient history you can find in the park, and earn a special-edition Paleontologist Junior Ranger badge!
This family-friendly event is free and open to everyone. Stop by Coldwater Spring anytime between 9:00 and 12:00, no registration needed.
