Important: For this event, please meet at the North Shelter.
National Park Service Rangers will be at Thompson County Park to assist fishing programming with Dakota County Parks and Recreation, Minnesota Department of Resources (DNR) and other great partners. Participants that are age 16 or older don’t need fishing licenses on this day provided they are accompanied by youth and children age 15 or younger.
There will be lots of hands-on fishing stations to practice tying knots, casting, baiting a hook and more. See live fish up-close or recycle your lead tackle or fishing line. There will be door prizes and giveaways. For more information, please visit Dakota County’s Take a Kid Fishing webpage. This event is free and open to all, no registration required.
